Here you will see your gross pay, the total amount that has been paid to you, and your net pay, the pay that you receive once any necessary deductions have been removed.

BACs Advance
If you see BACs Advance in the Deductions section of your payslip, it means that a payment has been made into your account in the last month—after your last payslip was issued. This could have been because money owed from your shift was not processed in time, travel expenses were not processed in time or your shift work had not been processed in time to be added to your last payslip. Even though a BACs Advance appears as a ’deduction’, it does not mean you have lost any money. It means this amount money was paid into your account in the previous month—and will be seen as an additional amount elsewhere on your payslip, for example in Travel or Allowances.

Occupational Sickness Pay (OSP) and Statutory Sickness Pay (SSP)
This is the money you receive if are off work due to sickness. How much you receive depends on how long you have been off work, and how long you have worked for HSCNI.

Tax
Your tax code is issued to you by HMRC and reflects the amount of pay you are allowed to earn before you begin to pay tax, this allowance is normally spread evenly across all pay periods during the tax year e.g. tax code 1185L = yearly allowance is £11859 so the starting point for PAYE is £228 per week (£988 per month).
