Statutory Sick Pay (SSP)

Max 28 Wks £123.25

Changes to the calculation of SSP:

  • The lower earnings limit has been abolished
  • SSP now payable from Day 1
  • Higher earners will receive a flat rate of £123.25
  • Lower earners will earn 80% of their AWE or a flat rate of 123.25, which ever is the lower amount
  • Linked Periods – Periods of absence within 56 days of each other are treated as a single Period of Incapacity for work (PIW) and the AWE calculation used for calculation of SSP.

Statutory Maternity Pay (SMP)

First 6 Wks 90% of AWE
33 Wks Lesser of 90% of AWE or £194.32

Statutory Shared Parental Pay (ShPP)

Max 37 Wks Lesser of 90% of AWE or £194.32

To qualify for ShPP an employee must:

Statutory Paternity Pay (SPP)

2 Wks Lesser of 90% of AWE or £194.32

To qualify for SPP an employee must:

  • have been continuously employed for at least 26 weeks up to any day in the ‘qualifying week’
  • be employed up to the date the child is born and give the correct notice

Statutory Parental Bereavement Pay (SPBP)

2 Wks Lesser of 90% of AWE or £194.32

 

To qualify for SPBP an employee must:

  • be employed up to the date the child dies or is still born and give the correct notice

Statutory Neonatal Care Pay (SNCP)

2 Wks Lesser of 90% of AWE or £194.32

To qualify for SNCP an employee must:

  • be employed for at least 26 weeks up to the end of the ‘qualifying week’
  • remain employed up to the week before they claim the pay entitlement
